We have noted a rise in companies advertising themselves as Chartered Building Surveyors when they are not. To be clear, only MRICS or FRICS post nominals are Chartered Surveyors with the specialist building surveying training and qualifications to assure you of the proper level of testing for building surveys. AssocRics is a good standard, but these are still not Chartered Surveyors. Lack of any RICS accreditation means you cannot be sure of the training or experience of the surveyor and we note a rise in some companies saying they are building surveyors with no accreditations at all. We say this due to some confusion in the market place.

Understanding the Party Wall Act 1996
